Greg Crane enjoyed a career as a police officer until 2002, serving at various times as a patrol officer, field training officer, crime scene investigator, SWAT officer, and SWAT team leader of a 20 person team. Greg then served for eight months in Kosovo as part of a US Army Force Protection Team. In 2000, after evaluating and assessing the Columbine tragedy with fellow SWAT team veteran, Allen Hill, Greg co-founded Response Options.

Residing in North Texas with his wife and two children, Greg has also worked as a state-certified Criminal Justice high school teacher for a local school district and an adjunct professor of Criminal Justice for a local college. Greg holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from Midwestern State University and a Masters of Forensic Science degree from George Washington University. Greg is a certified law enforcement instructor, and has taught courses in the areas of SWAT tactics, firearms, less lethal munitions, and crime scene investigation.
